“Every girl has dreams of meeting Prince Charming, or at least I know I did.
A fairy tale-like meeting of love at first sight.
Real life and fairy tales are very different.
I’m just a small town Indiana girl that had a chance encounter with one of Hollywood’s golden boys. You may think you know where this story goes—not even close.
Life is different. Marriage is hard. It’s even worse when you’re strangers.”
Review: Since I met K I Lynn through the Breach Series, she has become one of the authors that gets my attention with anything she publishes! So, for me it was a great honor to receive an ARC by her so I could tell my thoughts over it.
Is it true that what happens in Vegas stays there? Well, not exatly if we have the four letters word in to the mix…
Wren Bradford was in Vegas with her mom and was not really enjoying the trip until she met Weston Lockwood. Even with her not knowing him at all (at least that’s what she thought) there’s an immediate attraction between them…and add some champagne in all of that, and we’ll have a fantasy coming to life: girl next door meets Hollywood star and there’s love – and marriage – at first sight.
But, just like the blurb alerts, real life isn’t that simple, and once “Dorothy is not in Kansas anymore” it’s time to face all the hard time a building love can face in the city of dreams.
On their side, there are a lot of love, confidence, good friends and some magic, against the wicked people trying to sabotage their happily ever after!
The book was very well written and the rhythm was very intense, but, much to my disappointment, all the situations I was expecting to see more developed got some hasty solutions. Some of the subjects addressed in the story were quite serious and very real in showbiz and this book could have been a good opportunity to develop them. But it didn’t happen in that way.
Perhaps the author decided to explore a lighter story and in that matter she accomplish it beautifully, giving us a true fairy tale, but as a fan of her darker preview work, maybe I had a different expectation.
So, if you’re into the fairy tale vibe, that’s your book to start a fantastic new year!
Three golden stars in the hall of fame!
