Most people called it a cult. But for twenty years, Josh & Caleb called it home.

In Paradise, there is no television. No fast food. Just long hours of farm work and prayer on a dusty Wyoming ranch, and nights in a crowded bunkhouse. The boys of the Compound are kept far from the sinners’ world.

But Joshua doesn’t need temptation to sin. His whole life, he’s wanted his best friend, Caleb. By day they work side by side. Only when Josh closes his eyes at night can they be together the way he craves.

It can never be. And his survival depends on keeping his terrible desires secret.

Caleb has always protected Josh against the worst of the bullying at the Compound. But he has secrets of his own, and a plan to get away — until it all backfires.

Josh finds himself homeless in a world that doesn’t want him. Can Caleb find him in time? And will they find a place of safety, where he can admit to Josh how he really feels?

Warning: Contains a hot male/male romance, copious instances of taking the Lord’s name in vain, and love against the kitchen counter. This book was previously released under the title: In Front of God & Everyone.

My Review:

Well, what can I say? If I love to read m/m books today it’s all because Sarina. It started with The Understatement of the Year (from The Ivy Years Series), my favorite m/m book so far and I fell in love for those stories. So unique and truly. This time it was no diference. The story captivated me since the beginin and I couldn’t stop reading. I don’t have too much time to read during the week and this was difficult because I wanted to come back to reading all the time.

In this book we have Caleb and Josh, such a unique characteres. They truly love each other since the begining and have to fight so much to live this love. They used to live in a religious cult where EVERYTHING was forbidden, and Josh loved Caleb in secret for all his life. Thought he never spect to live this love, since it was a sin, he just kept to himself. Since they live in a poligamist cult, as we all know, the elder men have several wifes and there’s no opportunity to all the young men to live and build a family. Because of that, there was no place to Josh in the compound anymore and he was throwned away, like garbage. Caleb runaway from the compond and met Josh, so they can be free. And then we think: oh now they will gonna be happy, right?

Yeah, not so easy. They had to go on so much things to make this love be true. And it was so romantic and angst, but every page worth it. I smiled with them, cried with them, suffered with them. And even though I wanted to kill Josh in a determined part of the book, I loved everything about it. I trully recommend this book for eveyone that like a love story. A truly love story.

“Hi baby,”he said under his breath. He leaned in and kissed me on the lips, right in front of God and everyone.

my rating 5 stars
